Pre-travel vet care and boarding, in the right order

Microchips, vaccinations, tests and health certificates have to happen in a set sequence and within strict time windows. We coordinate each veterinary step with established providers, and arrange boarding when your pet needs somewhere safe to stay before the flight.

Service overview

Two kinds of support, one coordinated plan

Use both, or only the part you need. Many owners keep their regular veterinarian and use us to make sure every requirement is covered and timed correctly.

Veterinary preparation

Getting your pet’s health records ready for export and import.

  • ISO-compatible microchip, implanted or verified before the rabies vaccine
  • Rabies and other vaccinations required for your destination
  • Rabies titre blood test, where your route requires one
  • Parasite treatments and examinations the destination asks for
  • Health certificate and official endorsement close to departure

Pet boarding

A safe place for your pet while you move house or travel ahead.

  • Boarding through established pet-care providers
  • Familiar food and routine kept as far as possible
  • Veterinary access through the provider if it is needed
  • Transfers between home, boarding, the vet and the airport
  • Updates for you while your pet is in boarding

Typical timeline

How the veterinary steps fit together

The order below is common to many routes. Timings differ by destination, so your consultant sets the actual dates for your move.

First

Microchip

Implanted, or an existing chip read and recorded, before the rabies vaccination.

Next

Rabies vaccination

Given on or after the microchip date. Many routes require the pet to be at least 12 weeks old.

At least 30 days later

Titre test if required

For routes such as the UK and EU, a blood sample is taken at least 30 days after vaccination.

As the route requires

Destination-specific treatments

Other vaccinations, parasite treatments or tests the destination asks for, within their time windows.

Days before travel

Health certificate and endorsement

Issued close to departure and endorsed by the relevant authority. Validity windows are short, so timing is planned around your flight.

Boarding

When boarding makes a move easier

Moving day is busy and unsettling for pets. Boarding keeps your dog or cat away from packing and removals, and is useful when the flight date and your own departure do not line up.

We arrange boarding with established pet-care providers and plan transfers so your pet arrives at the airport on time and calm.

  • While your home is being packed and cleared
  • When you travel ahead and your pet follows
  • Between a vet appointment and an early-morning flight

    FAQs

    Frequently asked questions

Can’t find your answer? Ask us on WhatsApp or through the enquiry form, and your consultant will reply.

Usually, yes. Many owners prefer their regular vet. We explain exactly what is needed and when, and coordinate the steps that need an official or government-authorised veterinarian, such as certificate endorsement.

Many destinations only accept a rabies vaccination given on or after the date the microchip was implanted, so the vaccine can be linked to your pet. If the order is wrong, the vaccination and any titre test may need to be repeated.

Close to departure, because certificates are only valid for a short period. For example, the EU and the US CDC each set their own validity rules, so the date is planned around your flight.

Rabies vaccination is required by most destinations. Some also ask for other vaccinations, parasite treatments or tests. We confirm the list for your route and your pet’s species.

Yes. We can arrange boarding with an established provider and plan the transfer to the airport, so your pet is ready for check-in.

Boarding providers we work with have veterinary access if your pet needs attention. Let us know about any medication or health conditions when you enquire.
