Rabies titre testing for pets in India, timed for your route

A rabies titre (antibody) test proves your pet’s vaccination has worked. Destinations such as the UK and EU require it, along with a waiting period. We coordinate the blood draw, the approved laboratory and the result, and build the waiting period into your travel plan.

It is a blood test that measures rabies antibodies, showing that the vaccination has produced enough protection. It is often called a rabies antibody test, RNATT or FAVN test, after the testing method many approved laboratories use.

Your veterinarian may recommend a booster vaccination followed by a new blood test. For UK and EU travel the waiting period then runs from the new sample date, so it is worth starting early.

For the UK, the result remains valid as long as your pet’s rabies vaccinations are kept up to date without a gap. For dogs entering the US, the CDC accepts a passing titre for life provided vaccination does not lapse and the laboratory remains approved.

The blood sample is drawn in India by a veterinarian. It must then be tested at a laboratory approved by your destination, and we arrange the paperwork and dispatch.

It depends on the laboratory and shipping time. Allow a few weeks between the blood draw and receiving the report, and plan the waiting period on top.

For the UK and EU, yes: the requirement applies to cats as well as dogs. The CDC titre rules for the US apply to dogs. We confirm the rules for your pet and route.
